Therefore, this center studies development of cities in population decline and infrastructure deterioration, in addition to disaster reduction and construction of social systems in a local and multi-faceted approach, including measures against earthquake/tsunami, port/harbor plans, fire prevention, restoration and rehabilitation economic activities, nuclear safety engineering, radiation protection, electric power security, information and telecommunications security, satellite monitoring of the ground, psychological care for disaster victims, welfare/living environment plans, transportation network design, and general port town creation plans.
To activate regional lives more ruinously, the institute of IPRIA is playing a role as a coordinator connecting university’s research activities with regional industrial activities. The instate is offering university researchers a communicating theater through trans-faculty information exchanges. The activity of the institute is well coordinated with that of the concerned activities in the administrative divisions and will act as a window to the outer institutions.
